Boarding and Alighting the Tractor
Color Differentiation. TICO has traditionally used color differentiation (black to orange) as a means of helping the alert operator to recognize where different steps and grades are located in the path into and out of the tractor
“Self-Cleaning” Attributes. TICO makes a special effort to configure all steps from “self-cleaning” material. The fuel tank top is covered by color differentiated expanded metal that allows grease and dirt to pass through instead of collecting on the surface. 
The same concept is present on the boom cover grating as well as the cover on the hydraulic fluid tank on the other side of the frame. Because of the hydraulic tank design, boarding can be accomplished from either side of the tractor. All steps are hard mounted and not parts of a removable cover, such as a battery box.
